Pad See Ew

fast food at its best

Pad See Ew Noodles ผัดซีอิ้ว

This is fast Thai food at its best! It is cooked fast. It is delicious. Tasty pan-fried rice noodles are stir-fried with meat and vegetables in a rich dark soy sauce.

Quick, fast, and exciting. It is a popular street food dish in Thailand to eat on the go, but slow down, take your time, enjoy the flavours.

It literally translates to stir fried soy sauce noodles and is probably the most popular noodle dish at Thai restaurants in Western countries. The secret of a great dish is the sauce, you have to get the sauce right.

What’s the difference between Pad Thai & Pad See Ew?

Many people ask me this when they are ordering their takeaway. I would say that Pad See Ew noodles are more substantial, the sauce is thicker and sweeter, while Pad Thai is more savoury and sometimes a little spicier, although that is your preference for the chillis.

We occasionally use udon noodles with Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao on our specials menu. Replacing the rice noodles with the udon noodles creates a heavier dish – for those with a larger appetite.
