Khao Soinoodle curry from chiang mai
Our speciality dish – Khao Soi is a famous chicken noodle dish from Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
Chicken thighs and drumsticks are cooked in a coconut-rich yellow curry.
Egg noodles are added along with pickled mustard greens, red onion, shallots, dried chillis and then topped with crispy, yellow egg noodles.
This dish, traditionally associated with Chiang Mai, also has its origins from Laos and Myanmar just over the border.
In fact, it is traditionally thought to have been introduced into Thailand from what was then Burma.
We introduced it into Kendal last year at our cafe and it proved to be so popular that we are happy to permanently add this fantastic curry to our takeaway menu.
The contrasting flavours of the pickled mustard greens with the sweetness of the yellow curry and egg noodles create a distinctive and memorable taste.
The crispy egg noodles placed on the top are an exctiing addition to a dish that is already exciting.

What People are Saying
“I turned up as I was working away, the man said it would be an hour wait and then texted me a sooner time as I asked if it was possible. The food was unreal, exactly like Thailand. Excellent service.” Jordan
“Food was so fresh and tasty with good portions no faults whatsoever. You might look at the prices and think it’s expensive for a takeaway but you get what you pay for. Wagga mammas is one of my favourite restaurants but ain’t a scratch on this place”
