Thai Cafe in Kendal//
Inspired by our background in street food, and the desire to bring authentic grass-roots Thai cuisine to Kendal, ‘Thai Cafe in Kendal’ opened in August, 2020.
The cafe, which serves Thai tapas, along with traditional Thai food, is one of the new places to eat in Kendal and a part of Thai Kitchen in Lakeland
Our main Unit on Dockray will continue to provide ‘drive-thru’ Thai takeaways on Wednesday to Saturday evenings from 5pm – 9pm.
As we are not yet licenced please feel free to bring your own drinks.
The interior design of the cafe at the Thai Cafe in Kendal contains two themes: the sun, sea and sand of Thailand reflected in the colours of the decor and menus, and the mountains and lakes of the Lake District with their legacy of photography and mountaineering. The ambience is both calm, peaceful and yet vibrant.

After many years catering at events and festivals in Cumbria, we are bringing you food inspired by traditional grass-roots Thai cuisine and our background in Thai street food.
Thai food is meant for sharing and we have created, in the heart of Kendal, a place to meet up and share a meal with friends and family in a calm, relaxing atmosphere.
Our popular Thai tapas meals are great for either a lunchtime snack, or to spend time inside with friends.
Above all, it is our intention have fun and create great Thai food for you.

Laap
A spicy dish from northern Thailand of minced pork, chicken or beef seasoned with onions, ground rice, lime, coriander and mint, served cold.
Khao Soi
A mild, creamy, noodle dish from northern Thailand, with coconut milk and chicken thighs, topped with pickled shallots and crispy noodles
Guay Tiew
Guay Tiew (boat noodles). Basically, boil noodles, add meat of your choice and vegetables, put them in a bowl, add broth, ready to eat.
