Pad Kee Mao ผัดขี้เมา (pad kee mao)
Allergens: wheat, soya.
Ingredients: vegetables, noodles or pasta.
Pad Kee Mao, the literal translation means ‘drunken noodles’! They’re not cooked in alcohol though, it’s just that they can’t seem to stand up! Holy basil is added to meat, along with assorted vegetables, I use either pasta or noodles, then broccoli, sometimes baby corn. The ingredients are stir-fried in the wok, mixed and twisted together, before being slid onto the plate. This an intriguing meal, a unexpected addition to the traditional Thai dishes.
