Thai Kitchen in Lakeland FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
I have tried to provide answers to many of the questions you may have about booking your dinner party and choosing the dishes for your group. If there is anything you need clarification for, which is not listed below, then please contact me and I will try to help you create your perfect evening.
HOW DO I BOOK A MEAL?
To check availability for a booking, please go to the Reservations Page, complete the form, and I shall get back to you to confirm that your date is available, or to suggest another date. I aim to reply to your message within 24 hours.
Alternatively, you can call me on 07768 808249 or send an email to Thai Kitchen in Lakeland.
WHAT IS THE COST?
There are two options: the seven course meal costs £38 a head, and the nine course option costs £41 per head.
The minimum cost for a booking is £304, which relates to the minimum group of eight people.
However, should your party have less than eight guests, I can still come to cook for you, but I will still need to charge the minimum cost of £304.
HOW DO I CHOOSE THE DISHES?
All details about ordering your meal are on the page ‘Creating your menu’.
There are two options: a seven course and a nine course option; select either of these.
Then select three starters, four main course dishes and, if you have chosen the nine course option, also two dessert dishes.
Once you have completed your selections proceed to the checkout page to finalise your booking.
DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
All bookings must be accompanied by a deposit of £50. The deposit is necessary to secure your booking. Until I have received your deposit then you may lose your booking should someone else request the same date.
I will always attempt to contact you first before releasing your booking to another group, although as most requests for a booking require an immediate response, I cannot guarantee that your booking will not be lost while I await your reply.
It is important, once you have confirmed your booking, that you send the deposit within 24 hours.
HOW MUCH DOES THE MEAL COST?
There are two options for the meal:
The 7 course option is a choice of three starters and four main course and costs £38 per head.
The 9 course option is a choice of three starters, four main course and two dessert and costs £41 per head.
Thai meals are slightly different from western meals, as the food is served in dishes and placed on the table for all to share. So when I serve your food I serve enough for the number of guests in the group.
HOW DO I PAY?
The deposit can be paid by online banking or by sending a cheque ( the option is on the checkout page).
The balance is payable on the night in cash / card, or prior to the booking by online banking or cheque.
Cheques for the balance must be sent a least seven days in advance of the date of your booking.

Yes, I cater for children. The cost for children depends on their age. For young children under the age of 5, there is no charge, although they will usually share some of the adults food. For children between 6-12 years old a charge of £15 per child is made. Above 12 years old the full cost applies, unless you are happy for them to share your meal..
I can make separate dishes for children, if they do not like the spicier, adult food.

There is a surcharge of 20% for bookings on New Year’s Eve.
ARE YOU ACCREDITED TO ANY ORGANISATIONS?
Yes, we are members of NCASS (Nationwide Caterers Association). All our staff hold Food Level Hygiene certificates to level 2. We are registered with SLDC as a food business, where we received a 5 star hygiene award. We started trading in 2006. Some of our staff work in the hotel and restaurant trade, and have received training in food production and front-of-house operations.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BUFFET AND A DINNER PARTY?
We expect dinner parties to cater for a maximum of 20 people. Although there are locations where I can cook for up to 24 guests. Above 20 people it is generally considered more practical to provide a Thai buffet. We have catered for some weddings in this way. If you have more than 20 guests please drop me an email first to discuss your requirements.
